The Intern fills a general analytical role across Freestone’s investment platform, which includes fixed income, equities, hedge funds, real estate, and private equity. The Intern will work on a variety of projects under the direction of Portfolio Managers. The position is located at the Freestone headquarters office in Seattle, WA.
The Intern program lasts the summer, with continuous training and networking opportunities throughout. Well performing interns will assume increasing responsibilities and may be asked to stay on for an extended term. Exceptional Interns with a demonstrated interest in and aptitude for investments may be offered a full-time opportunity to stay on with Freestone long-term as an Associate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Analysis: Financial modeling, valuation, industry or asset class research, and general investment diligence
- Portfolio Analysis: Support the portfolio managers in performing analysis on existing holdings, frequently with the intent of communicating conclusions and recommendations to clients or the investment committee
- Administration: Maintenance of Freestone’s CRM, electronic files, operating / investment reports, and other corporate reporting
- Miscellaneous: Perform any such duty as necessary to support Freestone’s investment process
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest in finance and investments as a potential career path
- Excellent quantitative, analytical and communication skills
- Well-rounded academic background complemented with strong performance in challenging courses
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative solutions
- Capability to manage projects independently and readiness to assume a high level of responsibility
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Compensation
- Hourly wage with the potential for college credit if applicable.
- Catered lunches M-Th
The expected hourly wage for this position is $20/hour. The anticipated start date for this internship will be May or June of 2024. Relocation and housing assistance is not provided.
